Water Damage Restoration Toronto Century Home

I purchased a century home as an investment property back in late October of 2016. I started on the necessary repairs by cleaning up the front and backyard. I noticed that there were some shingles on the ground so I thought that I would go up on the roof to investigate. Right away I could tell that the roof was soft in some area and that it desperately needed to be fixed. After lifting up some more shingles, I seen that the planks were rotted out as well so I decided to take a trip to the local Home Depot to buy the supplies I would need to fix it. When I got back it had started to get dark out so I covered the exposed area with a tarp.

Sometime during the night, we experienced a heavy rain and wind storm that must have caused a part of the tarp to blow open leaving the whole exposed to the elements. I immediately went inside the home to find that the entire house had been completely saturated from the rain water. I had no idea what to do or who to call. A friend of mine gave me the number for Lemarg and said that he was sure that they could help me.

The team arrived very quickly and immediately started scoping out the house for damages. Within the first few hours, they had completed Infrared reports, documenting all damages, taking photos and got me on the phone with my insurance company. I was amazed by just how fast they work.

When my insurance adjuster called me back, I went over want happened with him and to my surprise, I was told that I would not be covered. I was shocked. I explained the situation to Lemarg and they told me that I should be calling them back as this claim must be covered as it was sudden and accidental. I was already dealing with so much stress that I asked them if they could speak to my insurance company on my behalf and without hesitation, they said yes.

After a good 10 days of going back and forth with my insurance company, taking to everyone from adjusters, supervisors, senior adjusters, other staff and the ombudsman, Lemarg was able to get them to agree to send a new adjuster which was a field adjuster to my home to survey the damage for himself. With Lemarg also on site that day, they were able to get the claim approved! I was stunned.

Lemarg knows their job inside and out and are willing to go the distance for their clients. If it wasn’t for Lemarg being able to get my insurance companies to change their minds, I would have enough money to cover the cost of the repairs.
